Was not open when having our winter break in January, but have visited during holiday season, and is a wonderful little restaurant in the heart of the town, Great service and a welcoming friendly atmosphere. The food is always excellent.

A Proa is a small, pleasant local restaurant in town a short distance to the beach. It is family run, the service is quick and friendly, and the food really good. Highly recommended.

Very busy spot, always best to book in advance. Food was excellent and good size portions. I was surprised how cheap the bill was considered it's location.Service was good and very welcoming staff.I'll definitely be going back.

A Proa is a small and lovely traditional Portuguese restaurant. The staff and the owner are very welcoming and are genuinely happy to see you and to talk to you. The food is delicious, fresh and very good portions. The dourada is excellent! The deserts are superb, a tarte de 3 sabores is particularly remarkable. Highly recommended.

Simple food but delicious and great service. We had the grilled steaks which were tender and tasty, lamb chops again super tasty and grilled prawns (with skins on) my 2 year old had the soup which was vegetables and beans (blended). Staff were friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend

Cozy restaurant with very tasty local food and wine and excellent service. With some luck you will be pampered with a succulent (home grown) tomato salad by the owner. Fado on fridays. A place to visit and to return to.

Really super lunch at A Proa. Lamb chops and sardines. Warm service. Great food. Good value for money. The Vinho branco was also delicious. Will definitely visit again.

Superb - my husband had lamb cutlets which were cooked to perfection and tender and tasty. I had chicken breast in a curry sauce which was lovely. All in all a very nice meal at a very reasonable price.
